Cancellation & Refund Policy

Your right of withdrawal and our refund practice. Last updated 3 August 2026.

1. Overview

ContactStar is offered on a pay-per-inquiry basis: unlocking an inquiry — one shortlist, one message, one send, as defined in section 2 of our Terms — is a single one-time payment, with no subscription and no recurring charge. This policy explains who you buy from, how cancellations and refunds work, and what a refund does to your inquiry. It forms part of our Terms of Service.

Your purchase is made from Link, not directly from us. Sold through Link, LLC acts as our merchant of record: it is the seller of the inquiry unlock in its own name, invoicing you for it under its own tax registration. Link is therefore the seller for that purchase and handles the checkout, the payment, tax, invoicing and refunds, together with the consumer-law duties that attach to the sale — including your statutory right of withdrawal and the consent that ends it early. Your card statement and receipt will show Sold through Link rather than ContactStar.

2. Your statutory right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the EU, the EEA or the UK, you have the right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 days of completing it, without giving any reason. Because Link is the seller, that right runs against Link and is set out in the Link buyer terms, which you accept at checkout.

The right can end early. Unlocking an inquiry gives you immediate access to digital content and functionality — the ability to send it, its raised allowances, and the remainder of its shortlist. Where you agree at checkout that the product be made available to you straight away, the 14-day right ends once that has happened. That agreement is governed by the buyer terms linked above, which Link presents at its checkout; we do not ask for it separately, and there is no step in ContactStar itself that waives anything.

To exercise the right, or to ask about it, write to hello@contactstar.app and we will pass it to Link for you, or contact Link’s buyer support directly using the receipt it emailed you. You may use the model wording below, but it is not obligatory. To meet the deadline it is enough to send your communication before the 14 days expire.

3. Goodwill refunds

Beyond your statutory rights, we want you to be treated fairly. If a technical fault on our side prevented an inquiry from being unlocked properly or its messages from being sent, tell us at hello@contactstar.app and describe the issue. We review every such request in good faith and, where it is justified, ask Link to refund you — the money is returned by Link, since Link took it.

This voluntary practice does not limit your mandatory legal rights.

4. What happens when a refund is granted

When an inquiry is refunded, the unlock is reversed: the inquiry is locked again, the part of its shortlist that an unlock had shown is hidden once more, and it can no longer send — returning to the state it was in before payment. A refunded inquiry counts as unpaid again for the purpose of our one-unpaid-inquiry limit. Messages already sent cannot be recalled. Refunds are issued by Link to your original payment method; the time it takes to appear depends on your bank.

5. Model withdrawal form

If you wish to withdraw from a purchase, you may (but need not) use the wording below. Send it to the seller named on your receipt — or to us at hello@contactstar.app and we will forward it:

“To the seller named on my receipt: I/we hereby give notice that I/we withdraw from my/our contract for the following service: ContactStar inquiry unlock [describe the inquiry]. Ordered on [date]. Order reference [from your receipt]. Name of consumer(s). Address of consumer(s). Date.”

6. Contact

For any question about cancellations or refunds, email hello@contactstar.app. We will answer, and take it up with Link where the answer is theirs to give.
